Each year the Minnesota HBPA holds an election for three of the seats on what is a 9-member board, which is comprised of three Trainer Directors and six Owner Directors. Terms last three years. This year Bernell Rhone, who is Vice President of the Minnesota HBPA, ran unopposed in the Trainer Director category. But there was a full field for the two Owner Trainer seats.
The four candidates were Claudia Goebel, Joy Gorra, Bob Lindgren and Scott Rake, with Goebel and Rake winning the seats. This is the second term for Claudia Goebel and the first term for Scott Rake.
This coming Friday, September 15th, the Board of Directors will nominate and vote on candidates for President and Vice President. The terms are for one year. Jack Walsh is President and Bernell Rhone is Vice President.
Postscript: On Friday, September 15th, both President Jack Walsh and Vice President Bernell Rhone were reelected unanimously.
