Not all that long ago, there was a very real possibility that racing at Canterbury Park would not happen this year. Likewise, there was also a very real concern that even if there was to be racing, the purse structure would be decimated. That was then. This is now.
Canterbury Park is running a 52-day meet with a daily purse structure similar to last year’s. (About 10% less per day but with the possibility that it could be increased as the meet continues on.) Likewise, the new Monday through Thursday race week with a consistent 4:30 p.m. post provides a healthy upside for out-of-state handle. The meet is scheduled to run through September 16th.
